| Jacksonville Jaguars: The Team to Beat in 08? | | The Jacksonville Jaguars have recently been selected as Superbowl favorite by sport pundits and analysts. They recently signed their two defensive ends Harvey and (will sign) Groves to contracts. They're coming off a great 2007 season with big wins over tough opponents. Also, they have a quarterback coming off an amazing season, with only 3 interceptions and a 100 plus passer rating. Their offense has been improved with the acquisition of Jerry Porter from Oakland and they have a number of rising young wide-recievers and a one-two running back punch with Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor. | Tim Tebow is good enough to be a NFL quarterback! | | The college season is only about a month and half over and the name you have heard the past few years still seems to be heard. That name is Tim Tebow the quarterback from the Florida Gators. While he was a gator his name was talked about more than almost any other college player and it was always about how good he was. Now its about how he isn't made for the nfl quarterback position. How can a scout say that? I know a few names off the top of my head that were said to be great players the first to come to mind was Ryan Leaf? They loved him and he ended up being terrible. There was also Emmit Smith that played for florida many years back and I heard and remember them saying he was to small to be a great back. Now he is joining the NFL Hall Of Fame with 3 Super Bowl rings, an NFL Mvp and a Superbowl Mvp. Which he is the only player to do that in the same season at that. So as draft day comes I believe he will be a good pick for many teams in need of a quarterback. So your asking why an average joe off the street and the nfl scouts aren't? | | Athletes getting caught with drugs. How does this happen? | | I just came across an article where a player in the NFL Matt Jones, a wide reciever for the Jacksonville Jaguars, will be suspended for the rest of the season for a cocaine bust that happened a few months ago. The report is that he was caught by a police officer sitting in his car cutting up cocaine with a credit card. Some of the ways these guys get caught is like they are asking for it. If you are going to do drugs, I would think you would keep it in the privacy of your home. But then again maybe some of these guys have families and don't want them to know about it. But then you have the ones that get caught because they were driving drunk, or speeding, or both, and the police search their cars and find drugs in the car. It seems to be the same story over and over. Athlete + drunk + speeding + drugs= JAIL! I always say to myself how the hell do these guys keep getting caught? And you here the report and it's the same story all the time. Police officers saw the vehicle swerving in the street and they pulled him over. Maybe these guys are asking for help. They go out and get drunk,maybe because they have a drinking problem. Or they go score some drugs because they have a drug... | |
