View Full Version : from the mouth of the nutty professor
here are a few quotes from king denny this week!!!!
"I never regret anything"
"I just think we did'nt have a lot of luck early"
"The bottom line is you are where your at"
wow!!!! a coach that never regrets anything, this guys ego is bigger than I thought!!!! It is hard for me to believe that he has coached 15 games this year and he does not regret one thing!!!!
of course you have to have some luck in the nfl, but when you rely on the luck is when things go bad!!! luck is having the rams fumble the ball and setting you up for a winning field goal!!!! bad luck is when you give it right back.
this last quote says it all, he must believe that he has a 5-10 team!!!!
this guys should be looking for work next Monday!!!!
talk about luck!!!
of the teams that the cards have played through last sunday, only 5 have winning records, bears, cowboys, seahawks, chiefs, broncos.
the combined won- loss for all opponents through last sunday is 105-120.
i think the nfl made luck for them!!!!

Denny Green - the guy who sounds like he stole Art Shell's psych meds and took them all in one dose, causing drain bamage.
Even though it might not help us for a couple of years, I really hope we get a new HC this spring....
this week will be a real good measuring stick for the o line and if they have improved!!! if they have warner will have time to throw the ball, if they have not warner may get hurt,i hope navarre is ready to play, the chargers have a very tough defense!!!
edge will not get more than 60 yards and kurt is going to HAVE to throw the ball!!!!
Jay, your first post hits the nail right on the head. It's one thing to look at wins and losses, then another to look at who they came from.
WR, in my humble opinion (IMHO) I think that ownership ought look for some kind of competent GM.

Does 5 and 11 sound familiar? Since they won the last few games does that give Denny another chance?

What Denny really meant is if he was lucky enough to have a better kicker his team would at least be in the playoff hunt.Or if he had been lucky enough Kurt Warner would,ve got dinged up in training camp and Matt Lienart started the season. You just have to read between the lines to know what Denny really meant.
i think that what denny really wants is to be let go so he can collect a check next year from the networks AND the cards, for doing nothing other than being incompetant!!! the 3 year record does not deserve the 4th year.
i was excited when they announced that he was going to coach and i will be equally excited this coming monday or tuesday when they announce he has been let go
we deserve better!!!!! from the coach and the ownership!!!!

I listened to ESPN radio this AM and the consencis was that Fibwell was too cheap to dump Denny and pay his 2 million along with another 2 million for a new coach. I tend to agree with that assumption. Looks like he will get to finish his contract.:(

Im thinkin the Cards win in St Louis may have saved Dennys job.Mr B was even on the sidelines with a big grin on his face at the end of the game.If Green does get canned the only coach imo that could come in and get instant results is Bill Cowher. Whats the odds of that happening.

Bill Cowher? I highly doubt that would happen.
RW- What do you think? Are the Steelers getting rid of Cowher, and what are the chances he could come to the CARDS?
My guess we will either stick with Denny or have Pete Carroll as the new CARDS coach I say it is 60/40 in favor of Carroll right now. If we beat the chargers that may change!
GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!
jesse- cowher is not under contract after this year. they did not get together on an extension before the season and cowher said he would wait until after the season as he did not want it to be a distraction... obviously from their record, something was a distraction!!!!! now if they could have had that same officiating crew they had in the sb last year , call all of their games they would be in the playoffs!!!! heee!!! heeee!! heee!! lol!!!
the steelers have to offer him a contract or there will be some mad fans in the steel city. i think bill is burned out!!! and needs a break from it. you know, a year off and then a year behind the microphone!!! then maybe another year in the booth and then he comes back in 4 years!!!! bad timing for the cards!!!! this may have been a great challenge for him!!!
honestly, if we are going to get another retread... ie... martz, then they might as well stay with the nutty professor, but if they can get Rivera from the bears or chow from the titans or the ultimate golden boy, pete carroll, then get them!!!
jim mora jr may be a good fit here!!!! the cards always seem to have great second halves of the sseason and mora's teams in atlanta, he always starts strong and then has terrible finishes, maybe, mora could coach the first half and denny the second half!!!?????

Jesse: The Steelers and Dan Rooney wouldn't think of getting rid of Bill Cowher. If he decides he's burnt out, my guess is that he will take some time off and think about it. he bought a nice home in North Carolina. He would be able to write his own ticket to just about anywhere. The old fire in him seems to be gone, IMHO
parker- dont you agree though that the steelers front office, even if bill is burned out, they have to make an offer to keep away the speculation that they wanted him gone? i can not imagine them not wanting him back, who would not want cowher, heck i want him in dallas!!!

i heard he declined the extension... for now. everytime in the past he was extended going into the final year of the contract. this year may be his year that he is "thinking about it?"
i just did some looking, and he is signed through next year. so, if he decides to stay, he will anounce his intentions prior to the final year, like he has always done in the past. i doubt he would ever come here. but, he would look really good in cardinal red. assuming he gets to make some personell decisions, and isn't restricted on cap space.

If the team were in St Louis Cowher may have considered the gig. Since he,s such a great family man and likes being close to his daughters activitys Arizona is definitley out. He would be great to have as Cardinal coach since he brings so much passion too everything he does.

Probably we should wait and see what he decides to do. Alot of pittsburghers would be heart broken if he left and myself included. I've heard alot of them say though that if his heart is not in it then he should retire.
imho, cowher will not come to az, nor, do i think, that he'll coach anywhere other than pittsburgh. he may take time off or retire, but that's my two cents.
